"Gold" on Metallic Silhouette Match

... very, very happy! After a 5 points score, and a 5th place overall, on the 1st match on May, 2010, I just got the 1st place - "Gold" - with a 13 points score, on the 2nd Metallic Silhouette Match this morning, October 24th, 2010, at Carregueira, Belas, Portugal. My personal goals were to at least equal the previous 5 point score, the "best" was to reach the 10 point mark... - so, getting up to 13 points (with the current national record set at 18 points!) was a great goal achievment.

The 13 points were distributed for 2 chickens at 40 meters, 4 pigs at 60 meters, 4 turkeys at 77 meters and 3 rams at 100 meters. Best "momentum" was the 2nd row of pigs were I downed 3 / 5.

My "good old" Ruger 10/22 Target, heavly tuned with Volquartsen "kits", with the B&C composite stock and a Hakko 8-32X scope over Sportmatch UK mounts, using Federal Champion Target 40 grains .22 LR ammo proved well balanced - and all the (last week) previous sight in and training proved nicely accurate and solid.
