Custom Made Ginb Stock for HW35

On March, 2010 I decided to compete on INATEL's break barrel air rifle championship (and, in fact, on all other Portuguese Shooting Federation official break barrel matches) using a 4,5mm Weihrauch HW35 "F" model (the low power, "rekord" trigger edition) but to "ditch" the original (boring and common maple) stock and to invest on a custom made tropical wood stock by the italian indonesia-living "master" Ginb.

I decided to use as a "base" Ginb's Model 10, in light tropical Teak doreng wood, finished with teak oil, but to made it all along the specific and strict dimensions from the national regulation. Ginb was very professional and generous to immediately accept this specific request and to start building it.

... the very strict dimension regulations (INATEL)

As "luxury" extras I added fully engraved metal trigger guard and recoil pad (along with a rubber option), a pistol grip with a metal spearator and a dark hard wood base and, la pièce de résistance, a 10 grams 92,5% silver plaque with Ginb custom work signature personalized with my own name.

92,5% silver plaque with "Pedro Mateus  |  Hand Crafted by Ginb "

Upon arrival the cheek piece was found to be too high and too "rightish fat" for my shooting stance - with the generous help of my good friend Rui Vilhena, and a couple of hours at work on his "precious tool filled workshop", it was trimmed and shaped down, re-sanded and re-oiled (I just love the smell of teak oil) up to presentation grade again (impossible to find out any difference from the original finishing). Double-custom work made right to fit! Bellow you can watch a short video and some photos of Rui Vilhena's work...
