Abadie 1886 Revolver
The "Abadie" 1886 Revolver, in 9,1mm caliber (black powder metallic cartridges - 8,35 g lead bullet with a 0,65 g powder load, with 162,1 meters per second out of the muzzle speed), was manufactured by L. Soleil et Fils, Liége, Belgium as the standard issue side arm for the Portuguese Armed Forces.
Jorge A. Regalado wrote a very interesting and detailed article about it, in Portuguese, that can be read at: http://www.gnr.pt/portal/internet/gabinete_imprensa/revista_gnr/edicoes/2008/n1/historia/Revolver%20Abadie.pdf

Scored 95 with my Billinghurst !
While training for the forthcoming 2nd and final match of the 2012 Portuguese MLAIC nationals, and after continuous "improvement and focus sessions" across the last weeks, I finally broke the 95 points mythical barrier - being 94 the mark for the "master shooter" award from the Portuguese Shooting Federation and 95 the mark required to qualify for international competitions. For MLAIC scoring, the best 10 out of 13 shots are accounted for, and a inner 50% ring impact is required.
Today, April 8th 2012, using my custom Billinghurst underhammer muzzleloading pistol by Tilo Dedinksi, in .36 cal., with a load of 11 grains 3F Black Powder (Rio brand), 11 grains of corn semolina, lead bullets by Rifle Bullet Caster (Germany) 0,354" , 65 grains, on top of 0,24mm thick, 24mm diam. cotton patches, also by Rifle Bullet Caster, lubed with P. André (Portugal) custom "French" mix (50% distilled water, 20% metilic alcohol (95%), ammoniac (5%) and 10% Johnson & Johnson "Baby Oil"), I scored the so much sought 95 mark!

Weight test on airgun pellets - Air-Arms Diabolo and H&N Finale Match
To evaluate quality control on top brand airgun pellets - in particular with the goal of using (or not) this procedure to sort pellets for extreme precision Benchrest 25 Air Rifle match competition, I took a sample of 50 pellets from Air-Arms Diabolo 4,5mm and weighted them. I decided to use a sample of 50 pellets from Haendler & Natermann (H&N) Finale Match Air Pistol High Speed 4,5mm as a cross reference for quality control accross diferent manufacturers / different pellet types.
Please note that both Air-Arms and H&N pellets are around 8 or 9 GBP per each tin of 500 units - a "mental note" that this about 1/10 of the price of equivalente .22 LR ammunition.
